Historical Context:
The Tobruk Siege Cross was a privately produced, unofficial decoration for veterans who served during the Siege of Tobruk (April–December 1941) in Libya.
Awarded through the Tobruk Veterans’ Association, it honored the courage of the so-called “Rats of Tobruk” — British, Australian, Polish, and Czechoslovak troops who resisted Rommel’s forces in the desert campaign.
