Historical and Collectible Significance:
Instituted in 1951, the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic is the highest order of knighthood awarded by the Italian government. The Grand Officer class is the second-highest grade (just below Grand Cross) and is rarely seen in complete, original sets.
This example, made by Giannoni Roma, is a desirable collector’s item, especially with its original miniature and marked presentation case.
A complete and elegant Grand Officer set of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, ideal for collectors of European orders, state decorations, or Italian honors.
